Ciel Patisserie - must-visit cafe

If you are looking for a sweet treat, you MUST visit Ciel Patisserie. I chanced upon this cafe when i was looking for a cafe to chill and do some work near my house. Ciel Patisserie is one of the cafes which you would love to come back again. Why?

















1) Wide selection of cakes and they have scones and quiche too. Their cakes display is like a heaven. my eyes almost popped out and i was spoilt for choice. Everything just looks delicious and so irresistible. Not only they have small cakes, they sell whole cake too



I ordered Bombe and Scone with "Dream" Tea while Bf ordered quiche and Vanilla Caramel Tea. Paul cafe also sell Bombe cake but i don't think its the same name. Ciel's Bombe Cake is rich and it has bluberry in it!! The blueberry blends perfectly with the rich chocolate mousse? I'm a chocolate lover and i really feel so happy enjoying each mouth of Bombe.

2) indoor and al fresco seats
Usually cafe are very small and they don't have much seats. Ciel patisserie is small but it isn't that crowded and most of the customers tend to take-away the cakes. They have both indoor and alfresco seats.

3) Friendly staff
The staff are really friendly and they can take joke. our friend was disturbing or rather quite straight forward to one of the girls, jamie? He asked her if she is mixed, her surname etc and she replied him nicely.

4) Prices
Their cakes cost around $3-$5 or $6 max. I paid $18 for 2 tea, 1 cake, 1 quiche and 1 scone. Pretty affordable right? ;)

Before i left the cafe, i take-away 3 more cakes. Fuji,lemon meringue, salted caramel tart. Yes, they are really irresistible. i swear and this is not a sponsored post.

Hatter Street Cafe at Kovan

Been eons since i did a post. I have just change a new job, something totally different from what i did previously. A lot to learn and digest. Thus, i have been doing OT but hope it gets better soon :)

Okay, shall not digress and head straight to review my visit to Hatter Street cafe. This is the first time i'm doing a food post but i have been cafe hopping too. Thought i should start sharing my experience and not let it go to waste.

From the name of the cafe you should know it's theme is alice in wonderland. e.g. Hatter, Alice, white rabbit etc.

If you notice, there is a cute little door below the cashier as well.

As for the food, i find that the variety are very few. There are 2-3 types of waffles, cakes and tarts. If you love crispy waffles then you must try their waffles.

I like the drinks we ordered. i had the Blueberry white tea which they imported from arizonia (i assumed) and it taste unique and good! Bf had the green tea latte.

All in all, i think Hatter cafe has very limited seatings which is very important for a cafe unless their food is really thumbs up. For me, i dont think i will visit hatter again not that i don't like the food just that it isn't that special that we will visit it again.

Review on Fresh - Soy Face Cleanser

It is rare that i can blog on a weekday morning! All because i'm clearing my leave after my resignation. YES, i have decided to leave MPA and venture into private sector again. I'm still quite young and stability isn't that importance at the moment as compared to something i love doing. Life is horrible when you drag yourself to work everyday, isn't it? thats's why i decided i MUST leave. YAY~~~

That aside, the main purpose of this post is about Fresh's Soy Face Cleanser that i have invested on. why i use " invested on" because it isn't cheap for a facial cleanser as compared to those you can find at Watson. After reading reviews online etc, i have decided that i should give it a try since my face is in a bad state.

A little about Fresh:

Fresh was founded  in 1999 when they opened an apothecary store in Boston. Today, their products are sold around the world and since 2000, Fresh has been partners with the world’s leading luxury goods company LVMH.

Fresh has its own line of lifestyle and beauty products ranging from skincare and makeup, to fragrance and haircare. The brand has incorporated natural ingredients such as brown sugar, rose, Umbrian clay and soy with traditional beauty rituals to give users a sensorial experience that is also effective and indulgent.

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser (150ml) cost around $60 at Sephora in Singapore. They do have a smaller tube but bigger bottle is more value for money.

The Fresh Soy Face Cleanser, is a gentle cleanser for all skin types. It was the first product in the beauty market to ever utilize soy in skincare. Formulated with soy amino acids, it helps promote moisture retention so your skin doesn’t feel tight and dry after use. In fact, it feels baby-soft! i can't stop feeling my cheeks after washing. quite addictive. Soy is also rich in anti-oxidants that are said to help protect and balance the skin. Plus, this cleanser removes makeup while purifying and toning at the same time.

Soy Face Cleanser has a gel-like texture and it glades smoothly on your skin. If you are using a Clarisonic mia / device, i will also recommend you to use this cleanser as it doesn't foam/ isnt that watery such that it goes into your eyes. I have also tried to use this cleanser without removing my makeup and it really does remove makeup and even waterproof mascara. isn't it amazing for lazy night when you are so tired after partying and you just wanna quickly wash up and sleep?

Before i end this post, i would like to also update on my skin after using DRX product close to a month. i have 1 new pimple (the biggest mark on the left) and i went to "you-know-what" it. my boyfriend gonna kill me if he reads this. Anyway, the swollen pimples on right side has subsided as well as faded.

Anyone care to recommend remedy for dark eyes circles? other than laser cos it is v expensive :(

Review on Drx Clinic (Updated)

I'm back to blog about DRX Clinic and its medicine and cream to cure your face from scars, acne, blemish etc. If you have notice, my complexion is very bad without make up. Yes, very bad. I suffered from monthly outbreaks, clogged pores, dark eyes circles and some wrinkles (i believe it developed) around my eyes and forehead.

After contemplating for few months , probably 6 months, i have decided that i NEED to try Drx after reading so many reviews done by bloggers. Sometime we are skeptical to what bloggers raves about because after all it is a sponsored post.

So here is my honest review after my trip to Drx clinic on 14th Jun 2014.

The photo on the right is taken before i visit Drx and on the left is 1 week after using their products. I have very itchy hand which loves to squeeze the white heads. if it isn't squeeze out properly, it will develope into pimples or even leaving scar. I also have a lump on the top left of my forehead, it was a pimple but i didnt tried to squeeze but nothing came out. End up, it became a lump. Now, the lump is gone and i believe the Drx products works well for me.

I think most customer will be prescribed with these usual products. Cleanser, Toner, Comodone formula, Blemish cream, Max C, X Cream(R), Strong Lightening Cream (R), Biotine and Sun Block. Products with (R) need to be kept in the fridge.

Although this is the first time i apply so many product on my face but it is quite easy and i didn't refer to the guide they gave me on the 2nd day. Total i spent $444 (excluding GST) i didn't take the cleanser as I'm using the cleanser from Fresh and i love how it keep my face smooth and clean after cleansing. Quite expensive though. $60+ per tube. They are fine if u wish to opt out from certain product which i like.

Okay, let me describe what happen at Drx Clinic. Everything was done within 30 min minus away 15min waiting time. I booked an appointment online so on that day i approached the counter and was told to take a seat. Soon it was my turn to go into Dr Yanni's room, i sat down and she examine my face for 5min? and told me small issue and it can be saved. no need to go for laser to remove the scar as long as it is not urgent. Don't squeeze, don't scrub and don't massage my face for the moment. If there is big pimples, come back and she will give it an injection. O.O  Then i was directed to another room by the assistant to take photo of my face. oh yah, blogger will describe about the make up corner etc. I didn't get to see it or introduce to it and i was wearing my make up when Dr yanni examine my face. but no big huha as it is not important as long as my face heals right? :) After the photo taking, i was brought to another room to be taught how to use the products. e.g. when to apply (day or night or both), how much to apply and on where.

After 1 week from the visit, Drx clinic assistant will call you to check on your skin if there is any allergic etc. Quite please with the service and i think it is important to follow up.

I want to share that prior to Drx clinic, i am a victim to New York Skin Solution. They love to hard sell and i spent $10k within a year on èthe packages. They will tell you there is promotion package and you should buy etc. Even though you should have a fixed consultant but most of the time some other consultant will do the facial for me. sometime they are so rough and after extraction i have lots of scarring which takes 3-4 weeks to heal. All in all, i think NYSS only manage to make my face more radiant but it didn't solve my outbreaks and large pores. Up till now, i have 8 more sessions to go but i'm afraid to go. Afraid they hard sell again. One more point, my consultant had left NYSS in Mar and since then i did not receive a single call from them to book my appointment for my next facial. They are suppose to assign a new consultant for me but no news nor follow up. so disappointing. If you are thinking to go and you can't reject people. i'll advise u not to go.

I'll update again on the process of my face after 1 month :)

Update on 6 july. Pimple scars are fading and blackheads on my nose can be easily removed! K i was told not to squeeze but my hand just cant help it. :( 

TIps for Bali Trip - Kuta beach

My boyfriend and i love the sea and beach. That's why we decided to go Bali to escape from the city life and it is a last minute decision (book 2 weeks prior to departure day). Flight(tiger air) and accommodation cost around $900 for 2 pax. consider quite cheap right since we only book 2 weeks in advance.

What currency to bring to Bali?
Bring IDR as majority of the shop accept IDR. There are also a lot of money changer along the street with better exchange rates as compared to SG. We manage to change at 9.73 instead of 9 (at golden mile).

We stayed in Mercure Kuta with ocean view where i can hear the sound of the waves. The interior of the hotel room definitely lose to Westin Siray in Phuket as the flooring is tiles instead of carpet. When you off the air-con, condensation will start to form on the flooring and wall which makes it eeky. The best part of the hotel is the infinity pool. PERFECT VIEW. a good place to take a book and read your day away.

If you are looking for adventure in Bali, i will recommend you to visit this website: http://www.balitobali.com/. The price is very cheap compared to what you can find from shop along the beaches. we went for the package for water sports: $275,000idr per pax which includes jet ski, parasailing, fly fish, banana boat, snorkeling and glass bottom boat to turtle island. no photo of watersport because no one else can take photo for us :(

We also booked the river rafting which includes lunch. Lunch i mean good and tasty lunch! I think balitobali is like a referral agency which will arrange and direct you to the actual company which provide the white water rafting adventure. The company which guided us for the white water rafting was Alam Amazing Adventure and i would say their service is good. all the pit stops has waterfall etc.

Gearing up! If you noticed, my hair looks alittle like anna in frozen. white-pinkish streaks. had it done at Black hair salon 4 months ago. Originally it was in purple and blue and only after 3-4 months it started to fade till pinkish white. kinda cool too.

Now the most important part is the FOOD. we didn't go to Jimbaran, the famous heaven for fresh seafood as we are try not to spend too much. So this are a few places we went and it is quite affordable.

Famous for its Pork rib which is around $8 SGD, Pork chop and i love the bbq corns.
Don't forget to have a glass or many glasses of martinis. their waitress will do a shake-shake-shake dance in front of you. quite amusing.

2) Bamboo Garden corner (Seafood)
Seafood restaurant along kuta beach which is really cheap and good. we had dinner here twice because we love the chilli LALA and their cheap crab. we spent around $30 each meal for a spread of crabs, omelette,  lala, kang kong and beer. dirt cheap.

3) Kitchenette
Location in the Sheraton bali resort and mall, along beachwalk. This place serve food such as crepes, pasta  and western menu. Trendy and casual place, ideal for chilling after walking under the hot sun.

4) Babi Guling Ibu Oka
Famous suckling pig in Bali. They serve the suckling pig skin, grilled sausage, grilled pork, and deep-fried pork with rice. After the meal, you can also explore the monkey forest and have a spa/ massage. around $10-$20. Journey to Ubud from Kuta take around 1hr? Cab fare was around $230 IDR.

There are a few more places i want to go but was too lazy. Thus, i will definitely visit Bali again~~ i wanna learn to surf!

I'll advice you to take blue bird taxi as they charge by the meter. other cab they quote a price.

You can also try to rent a car. my friend mentioned that it cost only $50 for the rental throughout his trip.

Quarter life crisis

Hello dust/air

I have abandon here for a long time cos im busy and lazy. Things have been happening and im pretty troubled and stuck in between. Sometime i felt like im suffocated and i just wished i could disappear or die.

I doesnt like my job. Have been bitching about my work ever since i joined. I just need to be patience and wait for few more month but apparently some arsehole are making the few months difficult.

Family and money issue. Can't take it when my bro and sis in law are so irresponsible. They throw their kids to my mom and enjoy themselves after work. My mom isnt ur maid. She is 50 this yr and she also need to rest. Take care of 1 4years old and 1 baby is nt easy. If you dont wanna be responsible, you shld have aborted them and enjoy yourself. Have only when you are ready.
My brother has a bad habit. He expect ppl to pay for his stuff and take no initiative to return even when i ask him to return the money several times. I also have bad times. I have to give mom allowance without fail if not she will nag and nag. School loan? Insurance? My stupid facial package from new york skin solution?

Recently i just started a online accessories store and i put in quite a sum of money for the stocks etc. so its even tougher  now.

I have 2 moles on my shoulder and when i was younger, my mom said i hve a burden to support my family etc like my husband. Apparently, i think it means i have to support my own family (parents etc) because i cant see how my sis can help nor my brother. Both are selfish fuck.

Life is so stressful. Probably why im losing so much hair and being so tired everytime. Its taking a tow on me and slowly eating part of me.
